Iveta Becvarova, DVM, MS, Dip.ACVN (Hill’s Pet Nutrition)
joined the Professional & Veterinary Affairs group at Hill’s Pet Nutrition Europe in 2011 where she currently serves as Director of Academic Affairs. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor - Veterinary Nutrition at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, USA. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition (ACVN) in July 2007. She completed her Master of Science degree in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences and Nutrition Residency program at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and earned her DVM degree in 1999 from the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno, Czech Republic. The majority of her professional career has been in in academic veterinary medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor – Veterinary Nutrition at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in the USA. She is a past president of the board of the ACVN, a member of the American Academy of Veterinary Nutrition (AAVN) and of the European Society of Veterinary & Comparative Nutrition (ESVCN). Dr. Becvarova conducted studies in obesity, body composition and oxidative stress.
Prof. Holger A. Volk, DVM, PGCAP, PhD, DipECVN, FHEA, MRCVS (Nestlé Purina Petcare)
Holger is the Head of Department of the Clinical Science and Services at the Royal Veterinary College, Professor of Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery and the Past-President of the European College of Veterinary Neurology. He graduated from the Veterinary School of Hanover in 2001, where he also did his PhD in Neuropharmacology studying basic mechanisms of drug-resistant epilepsy. He then completed his specialist clinical education doing an internship and a residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery at the RVC. Holger is internationally known for his work in the field of Chiari-like malformation/syringomyelia and epilepsy. Holger has been chairing the International Veterinary Epilepsy Task Force, which published recently seven consensus statements for canine and feline epilepsy and was a co-chair of the recent published ACVIM consensus statement about medical treatment of epilepsy. He has been a recipient of several Jim Bee educator excellent in teaching awards, the prestigious Bourgelat Award from BSAVA and the International Canine Health Award from the Kennel Club. He has published multiple books and book chapters, >170 articles, >100 conference abstracts, and is a frequent flyer on the international conference circuit.
Yann Quéau, DVM, Dip. ACVN (Royal Canin)
After graduation from the National Veterinary School of Toulouse (France) in 2007, Yann Quéau completed an internship in Renal Medicine and Hemodialysis, followed by a residency in Small Animal Clinical Nutrition at the University of California, Davis. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition (ACVN) in 2011. In 2011 he joined the Royal Canin Research & Development center as Clinical & Research Nutritionist to lead the urinary and renal research projects and provide support and guidance in nutrition for global product development. In 2016, he started an appointment as adjunct professor of veterinary nutrition at the University of California, Davis. Since 2017, he is in charge of the research team dedicated to the Royal Canin veterinary diet range. As an active member of the ACVN, and through his contributions in journals, textbooks and international congresses, Yann Quéau is committed to sharing knowledge and promoting veterinary nutrition for the health and wellbeing of dogs and cats.
